This site is a work in progress. I tried an introductory blog, but it came out a little strange when I posted. In trying to correct the issue, I deleted it. So, we shall try again.

Why "The Art of Animal?"
I've painted all my life, trying oils and acrylics and even a little watercolor. I've enjoyed the creativity. But as I've grown older, I didn't have the finances to keep purchasing art supplies, and eventually I just didn't have the room to work. I started using a Corel Painter digital art program a few years ago, and it's taken some time for me to learn the program. I've finally learned enough to feel comfortable with the art I'm creating. And I love the digital program!
There are so many colors and textures and special effects, you can turn photos into wonderful paintings! You can alter images, create new ones, and mix whatever you want. I'm having fun, and at my age, that's a pleasant state to achieve.
I love animals and decided that's what I want to paint. With people who love animals as part of the situation. I worked in the environmental field for many years and have a deep appreciation of all the creatures that share and shape our world. We humans have pushed too many into extinction, and many others to the edge of it. Our pets are totally dependent on us, while wild animals are dependent on us to remain alive. I want to remind people how important it is to care for our environment and all the beasts that are a part of it. That's why I've named my site The Art of Animal.
The "Goal"
Most of us can't interact with all animals, in all ways. A few people are experienced enough and involved enough to get to be close to various species, but most of us will never have that opportunity. Wouldn't it be fun to ride a zebra, or swim with a whale, or hang out with a moose or a cheetah? Those are situations that we can dream of, and that I can depict in some of my art. Life sharing events with animals. I want to share endangered species, unusual species, extinct species that we shouldn't forget...there are so many animals to paint! So much life to be remembered.
The image at the top of this blog is of lost pets that I've memorialized. I can't image losing those memories. Art helps me hold on to them...
Finally, I want to sell my art so I can keep making art. I donate to numerous animal rescue organizations and would like to keep doing that. I will add items to this site as I learn the process of e-commerce. As I said, this is a work in progress. Please keep coming back!
